Chinese, Philippine ships collide in South China Sea

Moving over to Asia, ships from China and the Philippines collided on Sunday in the disputed South China Sea.
In two separate incidents, Chinese coast guard ships collided with a Philippine military supply boat and a Philippine coast guard escort boat.
Philippine authorities stated that both of the incidents took place near Second Thomas Shoal, where a Philippine marine outpost is located.
This is an area of the South China Sea that China is trying to claim.
The 2016 arbitration ruling under the U.N. Convention on the Law of the Sea deemed China's claims illegitimate.
Near collisions have been commonplace in the region, however this was the first time Philippine officials have publicly reported their ships being hit by China's ships.

China refuses to abide by the relevant international law here which is the UN Convention of the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) which declares that seas within 200 miles from a country’s shoreline is that country’s maritime territory. These particular shoals and sandbars discussed here are mostly only 150 miles from Philippine coastline while they are more than 600 miles from the nearest Chinese coastline. In disregarding UN laws, China claims that these areas appear in ancient Chinese maps and are therefore Chinese territory. Funny, by this logic, China today is a territory of Mongolia since Genghis Khan conquered and ruled China and China appeared in Khan’s ancient Mongolian maps.

The most important thing is that the United Nations International Arbitration Tribunal rulling of 2016 in the Hague, Netherlands favored the Philippines claim and rejected China's claim to the entire South China Sea (no substantial basis and no legal claims. The United Nations Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) should be respected because it is binding and final. The decision of the International Court is legal.

That's why it is not only the fight between Philippines and China. It's the fight between China and the whole world 🌍🌎...

In the Philippines, the Embassy of United States, France, Canada, Japan, Australia, United Kingdom, and the European Union assured that they are backing the claim of the Philippines and the decision of International Court on the Law of the Sea.

There are two ways for China:

1)
To follow the international law (UNCLOS) and focus on the stability of its county and move forward with Philippines and ASEAN Nations...

Or

2)
China will insist it's hallucinations of it's ownership to the entire South China Sea and disrespect the international law... But with the possibilities of WAR against Philippines, United States, Japan, European Union, Canada, Australia, South Korea, United Kingdom, India, Germany, France, and other super powers that would lead to China to catastrophic disaster.
