China and the Philippines accused each other of ramming their ships in a disputed area of the South China Sea on Saturday, the latest in an escalating series of clashes in the vital waterway.

Footage released by the Philippine coast guard showed multiple collisions between the two ships in the South China Sea.

A statement from China’s coast guard read out on state broadcaster CCTV said a Philippine ship that was illegally stranded at Sabina Shoal had lifted anchor and "deliberately rammed" a Chinese vessel.

The Philippine coast guard said a Chinese vessel had "intentionally rammed" one of Manila's ships.

Beijing claims almost the entire South China Sea, including parts claimed by the Philippines, Brunei, Malaysia, Taiwan and Vietnam. Portions of the waterway, where $3 trillion worth of trade passes annually, are believed to be rich in oil and natural gas deposits, as well as fish stocks.

I like how china claim that the Philippine ship rammed their ship while showing clearly that The bow of the chinese ship is on the stern of a Philippine ship.

I love how the Philippines are not intimidated by China at all while China is trying so hard, lol.

the PCG was anchored in the EEZ of the Philippines and the CCG approached and rammed the PCG ship.

This is not a normal collision. The Chinese 🇨🇳 Coast Guard intentionally rammed the Philippine vessels.
- The Chinese have a history of ramming other vessels in the SCS, as they have done so many times to Vietnamese and Malaysian vessels before.

*The international law* is very clear on the South China Sea:
- parts of it belong to some ASEAN countries including Philippines 🇵🇭,
- the rest of it is the international water,
- no part of it belongs to China🇨🇳 or Taiwan🇹🇼.

The Philippine ship was a gift from Japan, and the Chinese ship is a replica based on a Japanese Coast Guard ship. What an irony.

How will this be a collision if the Philippine boat is standing still? The correct statement is China rammed the Philippine Vessel.

My recommendation to China Coast Guard. Stop being so kind and gentle, by using only water cannon and blocking. I have watched videos after videos of allegations by Philippines. Most of the time, China is blocking, but Philippines is the one ramming into China. China should from now on, use all other enforcement protocols that all other coast guards around the world use. Water cannon and blocking are non-invasive and too gentle. Use real enforcement protocols the real cops/police use; I am not going to spell it out. China, Philippines, US, Argentina, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, and most other coast guards know what I mean by commonly used standard coast guard protocols.
