Those are tests for the school bicycle club lol. There's also a stopping in a box test.
Started because a lot of people suddenly started joining and a lot of them couldn't ride very well, we were going on roads and stuff so it wasn't safe . We mountain bikers had fun that day . Side hopping the slalom, some were 180ing the switchback endos and stoppies into the stop box.

At Virginia Key mtb trails we have a trail, out front before you really get through the gate of the trail system, called Mary Jane, that has the tight turning skills challenge for everyone without being boring. There’s even a record of best times for those who really want to challenge it. The corners are all through the pine trees and you just want to get through with no dabs.

You can keep your feet level and still weight the outside pedal on turns, it’s not essential to have the pedals in the position where the outside pedal is at the bottom of the stroke.

i hate flat turns haha, can rip through a berm hard but there’s been a few times i’ve went too wide on a flat corner and couldn’t stop in time for a tree 😂😂😂

Wish I could practice this, but it's magpie season in Australia right now. Not fun being swooped.

Hi, love the videos. Is there a reason why you say a half forward stroke rather than relaxing backwards into the same position? Want to get the technique right and not develop a bad habit that i might be doing now.

Yes but how do you not fall when your tires loose grip? I can turn just fine but the moment I turn slightly too hard my bike slides out from under me. Despite all my efforts I cannot feel when this is about to happen. How does one develop this feel and how can you save it when you start to slide? I've been riding & sometimes racing(poorly) for years.
