In older versions of Terraria, the stained glass one is so effective. You can get a lot of platinum from just a few stacks. It is understandable as to why Re-Logic nerfed this.

In my opinion queen bee was my favorite early game gold farm. Especially in corruption words. She’s just so easy to spawn over and over and is a quick and easy kill

Also, another tip for early money farming: Make a lava trap on the surface and use bloody tear to summon bloodmoon event. Idk why but they give good amount of money.

Or if you really wanna do it with no effort:
1: get a few coins, maybe 1 gold coin atleast
2: put them into a chest
3: save and quit
4: copy paste the world
5: go into the copy and take out the coins
6: go into the first world and put the coins into the chest
7: repeat until you're rich.

pro tip for late pre-hardmode: the old one's army is literally an infinite money glitch as it costs 20 silver to get an eternia crystal and if you win you can sell the dark mage's items for about 15-25 gold each time

There is apparently this method as well (copy pasted from wiki with some edits):

When the Party Girl is housed in the Hallow biome adjacent to both of the Wizard and Zoologist (with no other NPCs housed nearby), and the Discount Card or Greedy Ring are equipped, Pigronatas can be bought for only 60 silver (average drop coin from a pigronata is 57 silver). This allows for a net profit when they are rapidly broken and their contents are sold. The player can even choose to keep the very useful Bacon (essentially for free) while still turning a profit.

i love doing the old ones army for coins, the post golem event gives you 1000 defender medals, and from the entire tavernkeeps shop are the canes, the wiki says they cost 25 medals each but theyre only 15 each for me, and they sell for about 37 gold each. when you buy something and dont close the shop before you sell it you get the full purchase price, and when selling anything you buy for defenders medals you get coins when selling instead, so that can quickly turn into a of money :3

My strat was a simple gel farm, and then crafting torches and slime blocks to make a BOATLOAD of Slime Candelabras. They're fairly valuable for how little effort it actually takes to make them, but you need to beat King Slime.

I farm granite golems. They drop night vision helmets which are at the least 70 silver, while also turning the granite into smooth granite table, which sells for about 70 copper. I also use the goers for gems, maybe for slime crown, or I sell the raw gems. Very useful, and the granite golem statue is easy to find. 5
Take my advice and when you beat Skelton or find a stray trap with wiring, you should try this. It's very beneficial. Diamonds also easily drop from the geodes.

Also, I've been wondering this for a while: how do you make such smooth Terraria animations? What do you use to make something like that? The idea seems really cool, it would be awesome to learn how to make some of my own.

There's also a much more boring but efficient way. all you need is at least one crate potion, at least one sonar potion, (fishing potions are optional), and enough bait to get several crates. Then pretty much fish, and only catch crates. do this for just 30 minutes and you'll have at least 10 masterbait, then do it more until that masterbait is out, and you'll have around 25-50 masterbait. Then you can sell any rare/valuable drops you got from fishing that you don't need.

If you’ve just started out in not the bees,
Selling wooden weapons is a good way to make decent money,

You won’t need them since you can buy better ones,
You can also just hole up in some area at night and farm coins,

As for the Pumpkin moon...
It’s good for money, but it fills your chests up,
I’ve spent way to much iron just crafting chests, (500+)

If you play console, if you have 2 controllers, you can make 3 other players join (in expert/master), and farm bosses. Then, you get 4x treasure bags than you would if you just farmed bosses solo!
