Here’s an explanation the reason the wendingo sounded like a dog in the last story was because wendigos can produce the sound of whatever they last killed or something they heard recently

As much as i dont wanna be that guy, the climate in Nevada just wouldnt work well with a Wendigo. That story was probably a skin walker. A skinwalker is another folk tale but from the navajo tribe native to the southwestern US. A wendigo is a lot more north, in colder climates. Native tribes that believe in the wendigo are those such as the Algonquins. But my point is, wendigos are winter cryptids. You really cant find them anytime else.

Wendigos are real, I know village elders who have seen them but they never named them. Some Nations believe saying certain supernatural beings can be called by speaking it's name.

As a fellow Canadian myself I must say guns aren’t hard to come by just go to Canadian tire or Cabela’s they have a wide selection of rifles and shotguns.

I was on a hiking trail, and it was just me. I was looking at the tops of trees, and I see a bunch of birds in a huge pine. I second I stop walking every last bird flew away in my direction. I then saw a humanoid standing there behind some bushes, but then it starts it way toward me. Before it could get within 20 yards I hear cars honking, because I was near the city. The thing ran off toward the sound. I ran the rest of the way back. I would not be suprised that one day there would be a terrifing skinwalker story. It's not a wendigo, but it is still as horrifying as one.

Tbh I generally find the creatures of my heritage extremely scary and bloodcurdlin but this didn't scare me as much as the actual stories
