And the CEO gets a raise for this brilliant idea.

We had an email today with a survey asking us new juniors whether we felt valued by the medical directors and like our concerns were being listened to. The universal response was 'wait, there's a board of medical directors who are meant to be listening to us? We have never heard of these people'

It’s weird, I thanked my favorite restaurant for the great food the other night and they didn’t accept it as a form of payment...

Lab Technologist here.
If I can't get a raise, I'd be SO HAPPY if they hire another person so we can be properly staffed throughout the day. This way, less stress, less mistakes, and we'd get out on time!

You know what else is funny? My hospital last year sent our an email from our CEO asking for employees to donate to the hospital. That's the day I lost any and all respect for hospital admins.

We have a CEO who did an amazing job encouraging staff. He kept staff informed of the issues and showed his appreciation. He found a way to increase salaries after the pandemic cooled down as the pandemic cost was through the roof for every hospital.. He asked people to do volunteer work like picking up trays from the patient's rooms no matter what your position.. Wasn't unusual to see a VP taking out trash and picking the trays. He made everyone feel part of a task force battling the pandemic together. He was a retired read admiral.

Lol I thought the answer was going to be pizza party, because that's usually the answer a ceo would give.

Just so true!!!! I love how businesses pretend they have NO IDEA how to get and keep quality, happy employees.

Our CEO sent their Thanksgiving gratitude two days ago so they wouldn’t have to work on Thanksgiving.

RETENTION BONUSES, YES. nothing pisses me off more than seeing a company i’ve been working at for YEARS just throwing money at other people who literally just got hired.

As a nurse myself, whenever admin send out an email saying the generalized, "thank you for all you do" and even add it to their email signature, it makes me want to rip out my eyes.

there’s always a list of things that work, and a separate list of things managers are willing to do. These lists never overlap.

The look of immense satisfaction on the CEO's face thinking he's changing lives but in reality irking people more :D

It isn't just the nurses. This affects EVERY employee in the Healthcare field: maintenance, housekeeping, CNAs, Rehab staff. We SHOULD be valued.

Medical professionals were protesting the other day in Sydney, I hope people start realising how lucky we are to have them 😔

Before anybody thinks this is nurse greed, hear me out: when a nurse is underpaid and mistreated, they will leave to do a travel nursing assignment that pays 5x as much. When these nurses leave, their former hospital units are understaffed and your GRANDMA gets subpar care because there aren’t enough nurses to look after her. Pay nurses what they are worth, and stop offering sign on or travel bonuses instead of retention bonuses and gives raises!
