Flocculant Explained #shorts

With a drop of flocculant, the murky water suddenly becomes clear, with the impurities settling to the bottom. These powerful chemicals clump together tiny particles in the water, making them easy to remove. From treating wastewater to purifying drinking water, flocculants play a huge role in keeping our water clean and safe. The most widely used flocculant nowadays is polyacrylamide, a very versatile and nontoxic polymer.

It's not safe, it's just clean, you still have to boil it to make it safe to drink

Chemical ingestion is actually my favorite pastime!

I still want that "treated water" under a microscope

I used to work for a paper that included on site a fiber recycling plant. Antiflocculants are used to get rid of ink and other chemicals from the recycled fiber. But can't assume the residue is safe. We had to process the waste.

The flocculant is one of many steps taken to clean and purify water it gets filters out suspended solids dissolved solids are trickier and need different processes as does sterilization the easiest way to do all three together is to distill the water but even then some volatile compounds may still make it into the finished product

Remember murky water can be safe while clear water can be deadly

I feel like it’s important for people to know this is still hella unsafe to drink. You’re gonna have to run ~3-4 filtering processes and boil the water at least once to make this drinkable, especially since we don’t know what’s actually IN the water. This looks like it’s from a treatment works, so it’s likely just sludge/cake mixed into the water (aka VERY unsafe to drink)

Y'all are such reactors. You didnt listen to the video. Its just a PART of making water safe: it purifies it by removing particles but no, it isnt safe to drink yet. You still have to boil it.

Yo guys remember to boil your water after removing all the dirt dirty water can be safe and clear water can be life threatening because of microorganisms

This water still needs to be boiled before it's even possible to consider it potable
