I worked for a pool company as a teen. I remember one lady who was a little despondent over her in-ground pool that we had just uncovered at her new (old) house. She thought it would be impossible to rescue as the water was almost black! We shocked it, vacuumed it, skimmed and filtered it and when she came home to her sparkling pool she cried! I remember another guy who thought his brand new pool was leaking so he removed the hydrostat from the main drain, replaced it with a plug and drained the water. Next morning he woke to find his $45, 000 pool jacked and cracked out of the ground! He tried his best to convince my boss that it was our fault but sorry dude, we take pictures and video! At one point of the video he asked why there was water in his brand new pool, to which we explained his water table and the importance of the hydrostatic valve!! So $20, 000 later we were shot gunning him a new pool that in the end cost him only $110, 000! Not to worry, he was stinking rich.
