Dumb question: isn't that school district liable for the abuse? Since it was at a school-sanctioned event and on school property even if not during school hours.

I got recommended a local news story about this scumbag. He's revoking teaching credentials in defiance of a federal judge's injunction on the state law that allows him to do it. He's going to cost the taxpayers a lot of money when those teachers sue.
