60k and 90k not the rental fees, they are the deposits. When you pay high deposit, you can reduce the rental fee in korea so many koreans keep their savings as housing deposit.

How do you pay $90k a month in rent? I assume that’s a mistake

Korea has a deposite system, where you put in large sum of money(10~100k) as a deposit, and your rent will get progresssively less for more deposit you put in. There is also system called Jeon sae, where you deposit 30~75% of market value of the house, and as long as money is deposited to landlord you won't pay any rent. Essentialy you are paying rent with whatever interest you can get out of your deposit if you were investing/saving it.

Bro we need an interview with the $112 guy or maybe a video about the "jeonse deposit" thing?

It’s bc in south korea sometimes you need to put down a huge deposit (that gets refunded at end of lease). In exchange, monthly rent is much cheaper than in US. The $90, 000 is the deposit

I payed for school dormitory in Daejeon(kaist) 78k won($65) and then moved to Seoul to work as a software engineer and lived in small room(kind lile goshiwon for 350k won($280). The second place made me depressed but i wanted to save money before moving to the US for grad school. No way i would have lived there for longer term.

Rents are cheap in Korea. Where I live (California, USA) rents are $3, 500 USD.

솔직히 말씀드리자면 아버지가 60이신데 집을 통째로 사서 돈을 안 내는데 이모가 만원을 내야 해요.

The first guy only mentioned the deposit but the second girl said 100, 000, 000 won roughly $76, 000 USD(the deposit) and 150, 000 won per month in rent which is roughly $115 USD. The higher the deposit the cheaper the rent.
