I'm Italian and this is how my last moving looked like. It's not just easier on the workers, but in some buildings the staircase is so narrow and tight that passing bigger pieces of furniture becomes mission impossible, not to mention standards of doorway size in older buildings! There's a lot to take into an account Eben if you're just buying new furniture!

We have this in Europe as well. Just makes sense, ‘cause some pieces of furniture are too big to be carried down the stairs

Also, the movers in Korea packed your belongings and wrapped your furnitures for you. After they arrived to your new home, then they will unpack and organize your stuffs for each room and also clean the house so you don’t have to.

moving is not a big deal for Koreans. they carry everything they own. they dont need to sell or throw away things before moving. they dont even pack!! moving company does it all for them....

Main reason they move like this is because furnitures are too big for front door so they move through their balcony.

Did that when I moved to Colorado. We lived on 2nd floor apartment which had very narrow stairwells. Guy was moving some stuff around using a forklift. He helped us by lifting all the heavy stuff, i.e. couch, dressers, etc. up and we just pulled it in through the large sliding door that was off the living room. We took him out with us that night and bought him a steak dinner. Totally worth it.
