The scene of Beorn fighting as the bear is fantastically well done, the sense of weight, of mass moving is brilliant.

In the book, Beorn was the one who turned the tide of the battle, as he was the one to slay the orc army's real general Bolg.

Beorn is my favourite character from the Hobbit

The swedish actor Mikael Persbrandt is the host Beorn in this scene. Mikael was promised to have a bigger part in the next movie as this character. And after the last Hobbit-movie was done, the people in behind the camera cut out every scene he appeared. So it was on the news in Sweden for a big huge disappointing for the director Peter Jackson and a big hug of love for Mikael Persbrandt. He deserved to be in more scenes! Peter Jackson gjorde ett stort misstag att inte ha med dig i fler scener, Mikael!

I loved Beorn in the actual novel. You felt safe with him around, like Gandalf, no one could touch you while he’s around.
