Metro Exodus Next-Gen Review - The Final Verdict

4A Games has a knack for delivering visual and technical feasts. In 2019, that was exactly what they did with Metro Exodus, which was a game that pushed the current console hardware at the time to its absolute limits. The shooter's Xbox Series X/S and PS5 upgrade doesn't quite do that, of course, since it's essentially a remaster, but even so, this is a far more impressive and significant update than I'd imagined it would be.

The implementation of ray tracing is excellent, and the boost to dynamic 4K and a rock-solid 60 FPS makes for a game that is even better looking and better playing than the already excellent base release. Some issues not withstanding, Metro Exodus on new consoles is a visual and technical feast.

When the game has no multiplayer and you beat it more than once but decide not to uninstall it, that's how you know it's an amazing game solid 9/10 imo.

I played it on ps4 and I’m just now loading it up on ps5. Holy crap this game is insane still in 2023. Just…..wow. Fucking wow. Best looking game ever.

It is really impressive. The best use of raytracing on console yet. Let me correct they haven't used the so popular raytracing reflections. They are still screen space reflections on console.. But instead they used raytracing global illumination, Bounce lightning, It all goes to that really changes the Game a lot! I loved the dolby atmos sound too. I really noticed it on headpjones. For me, the first true Next Gen Game on consoles is this one.

I got this game a week ago and cannot put it down . Got it on the Ps4 but for some reason I shelved it but I'm happy I did because it looks amazing on the PS5 with my 4k TV it's literally like a new game. I've stopped numerous times to take pictures, especially in Caspian, boy boy boy this game has the best looking Sunset 🌞 I've seen in a game. I haven't beat the game yet but I'm already a fan boy of Metro.

I just bought this and played it. One of the greatest story games i have ever played. I didnt skip any dialouge, i looked for collectibles, i enjoyed the athmosphere and the characters greatly. When i finished the main story i felt a loss, just like after an amazing movie. Just started on the two colonels dlc ans the intro was such an amazing next parter for the main story with miller having so recently died and now i get his ans the childs POV... what a fucking game.
