Okay your stainless steel tumblers or any insulated mugs get the quantum finish tablets fill it with hot water 1in maybe 2:00 depending on the size leave it for a couple hours I do that with my stainless steel tumblers overnight rinse the about couple times and they're good to go

My toilet isn't old design so it can't be open and put that device. Downstairs/1st floor bathroom is the old design.

The toilet tank cleaners are a terrible idea and will either corrode or gum up your plumbing. Depends on their content and the type of water, but best just to not. Those little sticky gel dots you can put in the toilet are a better idea.
