I use the same soap on my face to clean my makeup brushes. Which is Clinique. Why because anything that touches the face should be cleaned with the same face soap. Any fragrance residue can create face skin irritations. Especially something as harsh as dish soap like the power wash dawn. I understand you wanting do wash all your makeup brushes fast but to me my face skin is more important than how fast I wash my brushes when it comes to healthy skin. But I do use that dawn powerwash for caked on dishes and pans.

I’ve used Zote
pink bar soap for years with no skin irritation or issues with my brushes. It cleans in seconds and only cost 99 cents at Walmart in the wash soap area. Any soap used to wash dishes are filled with harsh chemicals. Zote is for clothes and it removes makeup stains from clothes wonderful.

Actually a Natural, AMAZING brush/sponge cleaner is Dr. Bronner’s Hemp Peppermint Pure-Castile Soap… OMG!! NEVER using anything else! The BEST!!

The best way to clean makeup sponges (and so much cheaper than BB soap) is shampoo bars. They clean SO much better than regular soap and last forever. I wear full face every day, clean my beauty blender every day and I’ve been using the same shampoo bar for over 3 years now

This may sound terribly wasteful, but honestly, I use the Costco Kirkland makeup wipes and they make it so easy to clean your brushes as you use them so they never get too gunked up. I did a deep clean recently with some Sephora brush cleaner and I swear it smelled like paint thinner, and I was grossed out which is why I started with the wipes daily.

I take my makeup remover and poor it on my makeup rag and rub the brushed lightly into it (it removes easily) also when I clean my rag I just wash it with my clothes. But Micellar is a really good makeup remover

So...my lazy hack is I just don't wear makeup, I dunno why, just really too lazy I guess. BUT I'm definitely gonna try this hack for my paintbrushes!!! 🎨 🖌 Thanks for the tip ❤️

If your brushes are valuable or natural (non-synthetic) bristles … try not to soak entire brush. Just get the bristles and let it air dory flat or bristles down if you can!

Always remember to keep water below the metal and dry with brushes pointed down! Love the hack!!

This would be great for synthetic brushes only. Natural-hair bristles need conditioner too-- the Dawn will strip it and ruin the hair texture.
