Yugoslavia had a potential for successful nation, as it was similar in size to the relevant nations in Europe, and was the most prosperous state from all the socialist/eastern block, but its people were more attached to their local identities, than the Yugoslav identity, so the whole project was artificial, and doomed in its core.
