Thor is almost like a shadow of Kratos in his earlier days, probably done intentionally by the developers to show the growth and character development of Kratos.

I actually think Kratos’ words about his sons during their first fight actually struck a nerve with Thor. That’s what began his spiral back into drinking. Also notice how even tho Sif pointed out everything ODIN was doing to the family that he still wanted to blame Atreus.

They did a marvelous job with Thor’s grown man energy. He’s overweight but he will literally destroy your whole life without yelling….at first. He goes 50 to 250 in a slow burn. I wish we could’ve saw more Thor and he lived at the end.

Thor shouting at kratos "dont you know what ive done!" in their final fight leads me to interpret him as someone who tried so hard to live up to odins expectations, so much so that he helped him massacre the giants, only for odin to still not give a shit about him after that. now he has lives with the guilt of helping wipe out an entire race while odin continues to treat him like a weapon instead of as a son

I think a small part of Thor was reminded of Magni and Modi when they were children when he saw Atreus.
