Sometimes it’s just the weirdest thing for insurance prices.

Im in North Florida. 28 with my fiancé (26) we had Farmers bundled with our homeowners and ended up leaving for AAA Insurance. I had Full coverage. 2016 Mustang 3.7L and 2017 Camaro 3.6L. Insurance score is around 760 for me and 780 for her (windshield claim in 2020). I work from home in software quality analyst and she’s a Medical Scribe.

Farmers wanted 1900 every 6 months when our renewal came up in April. I almost went to State Farm at 1300. Then last minute I called AAA and they quoted me 1094 for 6 months. Around 550 per car. Full coverage almost maxed out except the rental car stuff.

I was with Farmers for nearly 3 years and they raised it 150-250 bucks a year for no real good reason. I still have my homeowners insurance though, I’m paying 910 a year, which is a steal in Florida. I know it will go up a few hundred next renewal because I left their auto insurance. AAA won’t take my homeowners because they are only accepting houses built after 1995 and my house is a 82.

Do you quote insurance policies in MA? I’ve tried most online quote apps but none of them are available for MA.

I generally take the defensive driving course every 3 years. GA is one state where it can be of benefit. My current and former insurance companies would offer about a 10% discount on the liability and collision pieces for 3 years i you take the course. If you search around for companies that offer the courses that are approved by your insurance companies, you can get decent prices on the courses.

Don't trust AARP insurance--if I used their auto insurance I would be paying four hundred dollars more every 6 months. I went through an insurance agent and made an excellent choice. I have 2 cars. My old car I drive the most for some odd reason but I only need the absolute minimum and mandatory for that car. I mean if it gets trashed I'll dump it. I still have full coverage for it. I don't know why I have not made those changes yet. I probably won't because I'm too lazy to go over there :) Over the past 10 years they have not increased my rates much. It's about the same.
