EXPLORING GOTHAM CITY

This guide will show you how to get over the walls of Arkham City and explore all the surrounding environment.

In order to make this trick work, you need to stand on a ledge or a billboard, then face toward the corner and start spamming the button to throw freeze grenades (RT on Xbox 360, L2 on PlayStation 3 and "5" on PC).

Batman will slowly gain altitude, the smog on Arkham City will disappear and, when high enough, you can safely "escape" from the walls of Arkham and explore Gotham City.

All the buildings, streets and cars you'll see are in low textures since they are purely decorative. You can't use the Grapnel Boost, so Glide and Dive Bomb to not lose too much altitude.

You can also explore Arkham Island.

Load the game again to get back in Arkham City or die by falling into the underside of game's world.

Don’t get me wrong, Arkham Knight’s Gotham City is breathtaking and full of details.

But I kinda wish that they used THIS kind of Gotham with the same artstyle.

Gotham City looks way different in Arkham Knight, don't get me wrong it still looks good, but I was hoping the City would look a little more like this version of Gotham City with the huge Skyscrapers and all. To me this is the real Gotham City

I'm still in awe from this glitch. Truly great find, I'm more curious as to how the person that discovered it, discovered it! lol. I mean who conveniently thought to sit at the watch tower throwing grenades?

The buildings here look a lot more gothic and Art Deco inspired than the ones we have in Arkham Knight, very reminiscent of Batman the Animated series

After you die when u fall thru the ground in Gotham, when u try to play the game, nothing can be grappled onto and the whole game is screwed up, just want to let everyone know cuz I did that to my game and don't want anyone else to have to go thru wat I did.

This is quite detailed despite the fact that we don't really go anywhere near these structures. Makes you wonder if these are placeholders or if Arkham City was going to be a lot larger.

I don't really know why everyone is saying it doesn't work. I have done it multiple times. Here is the way I do it most of the time: At the highest point in arkham city (wonder tower) get on the highest long pole sticking out pointing to Gotham. Go to the edge. And repeatedly throw freeze blasts (as shown in the video) when your hand gets tired, pause the game, rest, continue and repeat till smog goes away and you stop moving completely. Then glide and there you go. Dive bomb often to keep your height. I have it on ps3 and I have GOTY edition and it works perfectly, so quit saying it doesn't work on GOTY edition and it's been patched on ps3, it hasn't and work perfectly.

wow thats amazing how rocksteady even took time to put just as much detail in the background as in the normal area. Most games just cover areas where you cant go with fog. It just shows how determined they are about putting quality in their games.Makes me want the next batman game in gotham city 0_0

It looks like GTA 3 the Map.. the GTA 3 glitch with the city that you could explore with flying a tank

IT
1.get on a BILLBOARD
2.turn the camera to the end of the billboard.
3.press the freeze gernade button over and over again.
4.you should start moving to the edge of the billboard.
5.when you get to the end of the billboard you keep pressing the button and you should go up and up and up.
