Spanner warning light? When does it come on? stay on? go off?

I know this video is really old but I currently have this issue on my 2005 1.6 sxi Astra but it's being really strange as sometimes the car won't start then after a few attempts it's starts and this light goes of and the engine management light comes on and there's a clicking sound coming from behind the Speedo any ideas

For me spanner light is on during ignition and goes off after starting the engine. But it again comes as soon as I switch on the air conditioner. I am not understanding what to do. Please help me with this.

Well i think my problem with spanner is that is not coming on AT ALL i mean not even when i turn the key to the first position.I have run all the tests with obd scanner tools no errors stored .The car is astra 1.7 cdti Z17DTR engine

I have a 2003 holden astra doing the same stupid thing I had a diagnostic test the other day and its the ecu thing acting up which is attached to the motor which is dumb and its making the unit warm I expected better from Holden putting the unit in a spot like this

My light comes on and now and again the power cuts off, have to restart the car. Read the error codes out with Torque and an OBD2 blue tooth thing, no error codes.
