Must follow these instructions to the letter. Sit in car, put in neutral, do NOT press the brake, then press ‘start’ button to merely get the ‘ign’ to come on, without starting the engine. IE all the dash lights up, there’s a clunk from the steering column as the steering lock disengages…now follow exactly what the man says to the letter. I wouldn’t even advise overshooting and backing up with the top button. Follow the instructions and get it right first time. One addition - in the ‘service intervals’ there is a setting for a general ‘service’ as well as oil change ‘service’, do this trick of pressing the down button on the rhs stalk, until the numbers change, for both of these services. There’s a lot of flashing of text up there, and always wait for that to stop happening, that’s when the system has accepted the changes made - if you let go of the down button while the service interval is STILL flashing, it’ll just revert to being how it was! Lastly, note that even if there are lots of miles or km to go, until service, the MONTHS might say ‘0’, so you MUST be precise about this. Thanks, the garage refused to clear it, without us paying for them to actually service the car. Phfft. Take care all.

this just saved me a trip to a garage and paying out money for nothing, i missed the service then that happened. Renault manual wont tell you that it puts the warning light on if you miss the service date.
