Israel says Hezbollah commander killed after Lebanon attack

Israeli military spokesperson, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, said on Wednesday (July 31) the IDF carried out a targeted strike against Hezbollah's most senior military commander and head of its strategic unit, Fuad Shukr, also known as "Sayyid Muhsan," in the Beirut area on Tuesday (July 30).

Fuad served as the right-hand man to Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah and was his adviser for wartime operations, Hagari told a news conference in Tel Aviv.

Hagari said that Shukr was responsible for the death of 12 children in Majdal Shams in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

The militant group Hezbollah has denied involvement in the Golan attack, but said the group fired rockets at a military target in the Golan Heights.
