Hezbollah funeral held after commander killed in Israeli strike

Mourners in Beirut attended the funeral of top Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr on Thursday (August 1), who was killed in an Israeli strike in the southern suburb of the Lebanese capital.

People waved flags and held images of the slain commander, as his coffin was carried in the procession by members.

“We say from this position, that the response will be earth-shattering, that the response will shake Israel, and Israel's security,” said Amjad Badawi, a Beirut resident who attended the funeral.
