The IDF confirmed that the senior Hezbollah commander responsible for the murder of 12 Israeli children on Saturday was targeted in a UAV strike in Beirut. Contradictory reports have emerged as to whether he survived or not, with the most recent reports stating that he was eliminated.

The commander was reportedly Hezbollah's second-highest ranking official, Fuad Shukr, who also known as Hajj Mohsin, according to Lebanese reports. Shukr played a role in the 1983 bombing of the US army barracks in Beirut in which 241 American servicemen were killed. The US has placed a $5 million bounty on his head.
