I think the reason dresses just don't look good on men cause it's never made *for* men. That's why men wear robes or kilts. It's close, and it actually looks good on them. Because it was made for men. But yeah, in all honesty, men look better in a suit than in a dress. It isn't a social construct thing. It's literally just common fashion sense 😅

Dresses and pants ARE a social construct, but not because it was this nonsensical and arbitrary reasoning. Because socially men and women had different roles within society and their clothing evolved from those roles. There are actually historical experts that study the evolution of clothing throughout history. It is a social construct, but so is society itself. If you start chipping away at social constructs, you get anarchy.
