Hi Joseph, what a wonderful use of dodge and burn, in your treatment of the water, the swells look 3D after your skilful brushing. With regards to your portrait, another way to look at her face is eg doing a painting brushing in the light and dark tones, in my opinion.
Thanks and Regards Joe

I got the updated version of Luminar Neo with the HDR merge capibility. However, I haven't found out yet if I can still do a single image conversion to HDR like you can in Aurora HDR. Looking forward using a single image in Luminar Neo (Hopefully).

I did get an update today for Neo AI, but still waiting for HDR update. I have been using Aurora HDR since it came out.

The Canon R3, R5, and R6 can instantly create an HDR JPG to the memory card from three RAW images (spread out to +/- 3 e.v.). The R5/R6 gives choices of colorful templates, while the R3 does not. Just import the HDR image to an editor to add the finishing touches. Or, why not use Adobe Camera Raw to stack the three selected images to create the HDR, then continue to use ACR/LR or open in Photoshop for additional post-processing or processi with plugins? Can't say that the HDR in Luminar Neo is a step ahead. In fact hardly needed. For many, Aurora HDR remains tops where single images can be converted to HDR where Luminar Neo cannot. Perhaps Skylum needs to rethink combining all programs into a single multi-function editor.

would be nice to not say this is an UPDATE because having to make a purchase to get the HDR merge is really an ADD ON which does cost money whereas updates normally don't.
No mention of there being a fee to obtain D/B so one would assume NOT! However as this is the first of about a dozen videos I will watch related to this topic I will reserve judgement.
There are some creators of YT content that prefer to use other methods to accomplish this task ie. Anthony Turnham and a couple others -- Darlene & Skylar as I recall.
I think it would have been better to do two videos. One for the Upgrade/add on which has a fee and one for the D/B.
Now getting to the portrait. I have seen many photographers/content creators do work on portrait images which just were not very good out of the camera. This one was excellent. Yes the BG could be toned down but the pose was nice although I don't favor straight on but rather a 2/3 body position to the camera and the lighting was very well done and if you notice by the time all was done the original image so well lit became basically the final image except where the kicker light as a bit of spill from the hair light disappeared from the shadow side of the face where it was originally giving a nice accent. Generally kickers are better giving a stronger accent to the main light side of the face, in this case the bleed to the shadow side was very nice. Kudos to the photographer. The highlights created by the lighting were just fine and the shadow density also sculpted the face very nicely right out of the camera.
What might have been done in the B/D section was to work on at least another portrait that needed help and also a landscape or still life.
Will be continuing to check for updates as nothing so far related to these products.
