In this video, we take an in-depth look at Luminar Neo’s Big Fall Update (this is the beta version), which introduces several exciting new features to enhance your photo editing and organization workflow. First up is the improved catalog navigation, which allows you to filter your images by camera model, ISO, focal length, and more, making it effortless to locate exactly what you need. With the ability to sort folders and albums by various attributes and use star ratings, organizing and managing your photos has never been easier. We also explore Smart Search, a powerful machine-learning tool that lets you find images based on content, such as objects and scenes, providing an advanced, time-saving way to search your photo catalog.

We also dive into new editing features like Color Masking, which enables you to create masks based on selected colors in your images and refine them with a simple slider for precise, targeted adjustments. The update also introduces Color Transfer, a tool that uses AI to transfer colors from a reference image to your own photos, making it easy to replicate styles or enhance similar elements like skies or cars. Whether you want to recreate the look of a favorite photo or experiment with creative color schemes, this feature adds incredible flexibility to your editing process. Join me as we explore how these new tools can transform the way you work with your photos in Luminar Neo!

nice updates, yet when I see my purchase history at Skylum.... holy moly. So I am not too sure about keeping Neo alive for much longer :)

That color transfer is absolutely gold! Much much better than lightroom.
I also enjoy the simplicity of creating albums and sorting the photos, it's easier to do in Luminar.

Good news that there are two separate developer teams for Neo and Aperty. I hope you're right that Neo's sticking around. Skylum has a history of pulling the plug on some apps, and we'd hate to see that happen again with Neo, or to have the Neo feature set weaken. Aperty looks good but is too expensive and specialized for my needs, which rarely include editing photos of people; when I need to do that, I have other apps that do a pretty good job of it with no extra fees.

Without sounding negative there's nothing in this update that particularly excites me. The virtual copies are most probably the only thing I will use. What would really get me excited is the ability to soft proof and print.

They need to improve the masking especially on humans by their AI. Far from Lightroom and Photoshop.

Had me worried for a second there, mate 😅 I've only worked with LN for a few months now, and I'm pretty happy with it. It'd kinda suck if the devs stopped supporting the tool so soon.
Anyhow, I'm glad to hear that that's not the case. Looking forward to learning more about LN in your videos :)

I run into the same issue with clicking the preview icon. I think Luminar needs to make that icon bigger.

I haven't got this update in the UK, do you know when it's coming?

Thanks for showing us the update, Anthony. And about the last part of the video, I really hope you're right! I believe Luminar is a good software but not professional enough for the colour management process. For example, it's not possible to create HSL profiles with colorcheckers, the eye dropper is limited to the 0/255 view and many others thing that are available on LR or CRaw. I want to trust in continuous upgrades and improvements, in order to definitely avoid Adobe. Cheers mate 😊

I've been using NEO for a couple of years now, after ditching Photoshop, and was wondering if they have any plans to add more features to the portrait section or if it will only be updating Aperty? I don't do much in the way of portraiture but would find it handy within Neo rather than purchasing a separate App.

Thank you for the Autumn release update. Regrettably, I see Luminar Neo has not improved the layer merge tool you and a lot of us were waiting for. Maybe next time 🤔.

Enjoyed the video as usual Anthony.
Thank goodness we are not going lose anymore updates.
When does this update happen?.
Do you know if luminar will give you a choice on the i pad to use the same editing system as the Macbook pro as i don't like the i pad editing system.

Thanks for the video Anthony. With regards to the Color Transfer, I really have high hopes of having this feature create an image from a Leica Monochrome picture, and see how close does it copy the look.

And yet Neo is still missing the option to resize an image during editing (Not crop but resize). Can only do it on export but I want to do it before applying the edits. Something so simple in Photoshop, so it's lucky I only use Neo as a PS plugin.

Hi Anthony!
Is any part of this update free for senior lifetime licence users?
Thank you for your answer.

Nice clickbait title ("Is This the End of Luminar Neo?") We know it isn't.

Love the color transfer tool. What a great way to learn different color gradings! Question: will this work with my integrated graphics? Although the laptop is new, it doesn't have a standalone graphic card. (Yes, I know, but I was lacking in money, ya know. ;) ) If Neo stopped being upgraded today, I'd still consider it well worth the cost as a general editing program, but I'm glad they will continue to put time and effort into the program.
