YIKES, the price has gone up since making this video! But they're still degrees-of-magnitude cheaper than the custom-framing shop I go to for big occasions.

The point of those deep 1.5" gallery frames from Jerry's is to use spacers so you can set your work back from the glass. You can cut them out of wood or foamcore and use double stick tape to hold them in place. We've been doing it that way for a couple decades in the gallery world - Van is spilling a little of the secrets here but he's holding out on you. The spacers make those frames pro.

Van's the friend who always captures great images when nobody expects it.

He seems like one of those guys who is very selective with friends, for good reason

I see these twice: first on Patreon, then some months later again on YouTube. Something so seemingly simple in concept bears up so well under multiple viewings, with the evident care and craft taken to make each point and achieve each shot, and the unique elements to Van that make them a personal piece of art. Lovely photos, wonderful gifts, and a great video (as always). Thank you.

Van,
These look nice, but I would argue that there are millions of ways to frame a photo- you just have to do it.
You can do it Van's way or your way,
but I agree that framed photos are a wonderful gift - cheers Van!

Van is the only Patreon I ever subscribed to. I am currently in my 9th month of treatment aka 9 months sober. In two more months I can work again and I am immediately subscribing again with my first check.

Thanks Van, I've been thinking about what gift to give to my friend. A photo of her with a special frame like this would make a great gift!

Okay, I love this.

I've been shooting film for decades now. For the last 10 or more, I get them scanned to CD, no prints. I do print the best ones of family for albums.

But - giving them away.. I need to do that!!

thanks for the video.
