The fabulous vocalist Aisha Jackson is featured in this neo-soul inspired arrangement of "Beneath the Mask" from the incredible sound track of Persona 5 (composer Shoji Meguro) arranged for full big band and string section! I've always loved this theme as it really encapsulated the vibe of meandering around the streets of Tokyo in game with your friends with a slight air of secrecy in your heart. I added in a little nod to the great Jill Scott in there for you as well if you catch it ;) Hope you enjoy!

I love Aisha’s control in this. She just hits the notes pure in the first verse, not too much inflection or too many runs. It shows both respect for the original song and confidence in her vocal ability. It’s giving “Girl, I KNOW I can sing”. The payoff is so satisfying when she lets loose towards the middle and allows the fans of the original work to appreciate what only SHE can do. Singers take notes, THIS is how you do a cover.
