Create your own Excel Search Pt. 4 - Select search items

In this video:
I show you how to select items in your search list and have a table to the right build based on the selections made. I know its not perfect so feel free to input your thoughts on better ways to do this.

Two other ways to pull data with the match and the column letters which i did not go over, include the following:
You can place these in cell k8 if you have the workbook. Im working on a way to have the files easily available to you guys.

Far more complex:
OFFSET(INDIRECT("Data!"&$J$8&$H10),,COLUMN(INDIRECT(K$8&1))-COLUMN(INDIRECT($J$8&1))

Far simpler:
INDIRECT("Data!"&K$8&$H10)

@humanelemento the problem is most likely in the reference, be sure that tab names look like this ='sheet1'!. Excel doesnt recognize sheets if it doesnt have apostrophes around it. Let me know if that doesnt help

Hello, very nice job on the search engine spreadsheet. I have been following what you've been doing and have completed steps up until the last part of the video. My search results 1-15 show numbers in the fields for some reason but work great when i click on my check mark to display the information. I was just wondering if you know off the top of your head why this may be happeneing?

My table has searchable fields for both names and numbers and when i search numbers it works great, how ever when i search a name (multiple repeating names) it shows a single name repeated over and over. I need it to display every instance of that name, any thoughts about this?

One of my record columns contains dates. How could I search by a range of dates (e.g. a week, month, or just a couple of days)?

The problem is based on referencing the name vs. the indexed values in the other formulas. In the spreadsheets i send out, i believe i fixed and accounted for this. Did i send you the file yet.. cant remember?

Whoah, at @7:31 onwards, where did you get the letters below the index from? i.e. "1 and below it is D, 2 and below it is E" etc?

I want to know one thing, in your first 3 parts, you were using the same sheet for data and formula but in video 4, you have separated data file. I'm completely lost here. Please let me know what is "D" which you are using in formulas. What is B2 cell in your data sheet???

You should have used the same file for further videos, it would be very easy for us. Anyway, waiting for your reply so that I can move ahead with the videos and complete my workbook.
