Open with 'CHOOSE DEFAULT PROGRAM' not working [Solved]

RIGHT CLICK - OPEN WITH - CHOOSE DEFAULT PROGRAM -This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action.

(When I right clicked on file, open with, choose default program button, it gave me an error saying: "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel.")

Hi - great job, it works! I've tried a lot of things even at the MS Community. But nothing helps. Then I have found this video and it solved my problems. WOW you are the only person that I have seen on YouTube that is close to my problem.Please help me if you can.I had down loaded some off line games for my son to play, I do not have internet home, so the games came in handy to pass the time even I got caught up playing one of them, now yesterday the 28th of Febuary I got the same Default message and I have not a clue how to fix it.Please show a way to fix it and keep the games. i want to use a app on my computer as a default program for a certain fie (an mp3 file) but the app douse not pop up on the list, im talking about that list that pops up after you try to change the default program for a certain file, ya that one, well the program on my computer i want to use to open this file douse not pop up in the list, while my other mp3s or voice recording are using the app im struggling to make the app appear on the list. its not the device i got the recordings from its the laptop
