Can I catch fish on discount bass fishing lures from Walmart? Today I'm out Texas Rig fishing for bass. I am fishing with a YUM Craw Tube from the bank. I am fishing it around downed trees and the dock. I catch three largemouth bass ranging from one to three pounds. And I caught all of these bass on the same lure. Will the discount lures from Walmart be able to catch a bass when used on a Texas Rig? Yes! Discount bass fishing lures will catch big bass just like the newer most expensive stuff. That was odd I immediately knew that was a Biffle Bug but in a Yum bag. Maybe the original bag got messed up and a employee dumped them in a Yum bag that had lost its baits ?
I fish those Biffle Bugs a lot. They are hollow so if ya like sent you can put it inside. I almost always take the big tail off. I use them in place of a skirt on my buzz baits. Also on jigs for trailers and Texas rigged. They definitely work well.

Glad you stuck it out. Nice way to end the day. Here's an old-time trick you may not have heard about. Should work nicely with any tube type lure. Get some Alka-Seltzer, break it up into pieces that you can shove inside the cavity of the tube. Cast it in and the water will soon start fizzing the stuff and little bubbles come out of the back of tube. Not sure about how well it would work when working the lure faster, but a slow pull across the bottom with pauses to let it soak a while and make bubbles should get you some bites.
