I'm from and still live in San Antonio.

My father was on the medical/rehab training staff of the Spurs for 11 years... from 1996-2007. I was always at the Alamo Dome and later the AT&T center during my middle school and high school years.

During Tony's first season I routinely saw Tim Duncan and Tony Parker talk and joke around everyday in practice, after practice, during games, after the games, etc.

They even hung out sometimes after work and visited each other's homes.

I of course don't know what Tim Duncan might have said to Coach Pop in private, but it was clear to everyone that Tim welcomed Tony with open arms.
