Zone 7 (OKC) For the first time, I started winter sowing in plastic milk cartons in February. It is so fun ordering seeds from catalogs, getting them in the mail and then planting them up and setting them outdoors in their little greenhouses. It is a big success so far and I'm getting ready to plant them up in raised beds. I'm living in a new state and climate so this is a big learning curve, but enjoying it. It will be rewarding to eat some of my own food.

I bought 2lbs of broccoli sprouting seed. Enough to meet our nutritional needs for micronutrients for at least a year. Quick, easy and only requires a couple of mason jars. Just another idea for some people who might not have the time or space for cropping.
