Considering what you have gone through, a little fear is hardly surprising and in my opinion, perfectly natural, all the best for your operation. As regards the house, looking good, I think you are coming at it from the right direction, don't have anything you can't walk away from. Same here Rob, my wife got burned by her Thai ex partner and me same here in Europe. We are very traditional, both are on guard because of those experiences. We understand each other blindly and take good care of each other.
About the house and land situation in Thailand... Everything is in my wife her name, she can literally kick me out any time she want. Even my car is in her name... I don't care how much paperwork and lawyers you pay in Thailand. When things go south... Good luck with that in Thailand in your wife her village and/or get any amount of money back from a Thai person.
This is where the trust part is playing a big part. Do you really trust your wife to do all these things for her... Because everything you spend and buy in Thailand is 100% for your wife or another Thai in the end.
Ofcourse when married everything is split 50/50 but good luck with trying to enforce that in Thailand as a falang..

Just arrived in Perth Australia after a month travelling in India and Malaysia. Have missed catching your videos so I’m watching now from our son’s comfy AC home but 40° heat outside 😅
It’s really fascinating to hear about the detailed house plans you’ve got in mind- it sounds like fun and a great distraction. The surgery is not so much fun but it’s an important investment in your future health, so I see this as very well worth the risks/costs etc. Best wishes x

We put solar in a few months back and my electric bill went down from around 7000 bt a month to nothing with a pool and air running 24/7. An entire system ran me about $6, 000 US which was quite cheap compared to the States where so many just lease the system. Might be something to consider for your new house. About a 3 year ROI.

5:22 thanks for the update. Are you sure you want your garage protruding out the front, wouldn't it be nice to have a fully panoramic view from your front terrace especially when the sun is further to the left? Do you even need a fully built garage, at least initially?

On the pool, Everything Pattaya did a bar update recently, and Maggie Mays Darkside have installed an above ground pool for (what they said) B20K. Could be made to look nicer with some potted landscaping around it

WHEN I BROUGHT THAI GF TO US FOR MARRIAGE, , IMMIGRATION Officer asked, how did i know if she was scamming me ( 30 year diff) I said she was a farmer, never liked to spend money or buy much? latter he brought her into the room, first thing he said, let me see your hands, he looked and said, yeah those are farmer hands! That was 13 years ago.
