I've never owned a Macbook or used any Mac (for more than a few hours). I've decided to switch from my Asus ROG G14 gaming laptop which has the Ryzen 4900, NVidia GTX 2060 and 40gb of RAM to the new Macbook Pro 14" with the M1 Max CPU, 32gb of RAM and a 1tb SSD. I think this is the best value (top end) spec you can get in the new Macbook Pro 2021 for the ultimate performance and not spending anymore than you need to. Performance should be on-par or better than GTX 3080 (for creative tasks), they claim, so we shall see!

The MacBook M1 Max looks crazy. That performance in such a small body is going to really help create content on the go.

Been running Windows desktops for about as long as I've been able to use a computer, and my first laptop was a HP laptop with Windows 7. Been gradually switching a lot of my tech towards Apple recently, and now I'm proud to say that as of yesterday, this Macbook is going to be my first Mac OS computer!

Though, I should say, my desktops will probably always be Windows. I'm way into gaming, and building desktop PCs to switch away from Windows in that regard.

Agree with everything you said. It's even better than you think it will be. I'll never go back (And I'm still on the intel chip). I will say that I think getting the 16" is worth the extra money. Still super portable, and so much screen space you don't need the "sidecar" with the ipad. There is a little lag on the sidecar function. Cool for office type work, but not great for editing. ***ALSO*** Dude, why do you refuse to use proxy workflow? The A7siii will record them in camera realtime (720p with super small file sizes), and then in your Premiere project, it's 3 clicks to link them and you can edit CRAZY fast. Real time scrubbing and cutting. Changed my life. HIGHLY recommend proxy workflow for editing fast. SUPER easy if you shoot the proxies in camera when filming so you don't have to create them in media encoder. Just my $0.02 :)

If you haven’t found Mac Sparky check him out. His automation field guides sold me on Apple before the M1 was even available. Now it’s just gonna get even better with new hardware and OS. Nice vid, I am subscribing to watch your journey.
