The speaker grills are actually bottom mounted, the top grill is a vent for heat dissipation.

Related to track pad: On windows just double tap track pad, without pressing it. I used it many years, without haptic feedback, and never using the actual pressing the Trac pad for "click". My daughter got a Mac and I find it so annoying to actually press the track pad. My hands muscular memory it's not configured that way and I find it way easier to use double tap gently, or double tap and drag what you want with the finger on the track pad. It's way more confortabile and faster then using pressing, even if the track pad is having it. 😅

Small note: A haptic trackpad is one that may lightly vibrate (similar to a phone) e.g when clicking. Your complaint around 3:20 is the diving board design - you can make a haptic trackpad with that kind of design :D
