In my own words, Public Relations is a profession, it’s a science and it’s an art. To make it so simple, when you think about it, what happens when you talk about something (it can be anything)? What’s the one thing you think of when you are talking about anything? You think about their image. That image you think of is crucial. It’s the public’s perceptions about you and as a Publicist it’s our jobs to make sure our clients image is intact, favorable, and relevant. So how do we do that? Blogging, press releases, social media, email blasts, etc. Those are all tools that a publicist utilizes to make sure the relationship between the public and the clients are mutually beneficial. It’s so simple, we are the fixer, we are the image creaters, we are writers, we are everything else but never receive enough credit.

I think Advertising needs to be accompanied by positive PR and brand management.you can't put liptsick on a pig but ads have good data behind them if done properly

I'm a PR student and in my country, PR isn't really a big thing so most of my classmates chose PR just because this particular University does not offers Masscommunication therefore they think that what's close to PR is Masscomm. What do you think of it?
