AC Freezing Up Inside House - Here's Why

With the air conditioner freezing up, this points to (most likely) one of two problems - either a lack of air flow (frozen coil, dirty filter, ac freezing up fan not working, bad blower capacitor) OR a shortage of freon.

You may see the AC freezing up at compressor (AC freezing up outside at the unit), or you may see the central AC freezing up inside the house, but they are both related to the same issues (lack of airflow or lack of freon most likely),

The AC unit freezing up outside can sometimes look like a cocoon of ice sitting around the compressor, but you will find that as the AC freezes up outside, you won't feel any air coming out of the inside vents either.

A frozen air conditioner will actually coat the evaporator coil (inside) with a thick layer of ice so no air will be able to get through (eventually) to even reach your AC vents.

And with the AC line freezing up, the AC freezing lines will need time to thaw out the coil, before you have the whole AC freezing over.

Is it okay to use a heat gun to speed up melting the ice, or will that in any way damage the coil ?

I need help 😢 my ac stopped working completely I had a repair man come and he fixed a loose wire now The air is blowing cold, the filters were dirty but now there cleaned and its still freezing over at the pipe inside the house is it safe to take apart to clean the coil or what do you think could be wrong. I also tried running with no filters for a minute and the same pipe froze

Blower motor cap is out would take out the blower motor right ? Then blower wouldnt push air at all right ? It's working got cool air but don't want a repeat of frozen inside unit . And not one video has said one possible cause of this is failed outside unit capacitor right ?

Can the coils on the outside turn white with ice around it? Everything seems to be working good inside besides the unit inside the house seems louder and it also gets cold (doesn’t turn to ice completely but does have ice around it)
