I was very critical of this page when I first found it because of the cost of these Bibles and how many economy bibles one could purchase with what it took to buy one. But honestly, the more I dug in for my first "bible in 3 months" reading, the more BIbles I purchased to try to find A) something "perfect" for me for a variety of reads (travel, study, everyday, reader, etc) and also, I was looking for the perfect sub-$20 bible to keep a Little Lending Library stocked with something I wasn't embarrassed to give away (readable font size, durable). God has changed my heart and now the Bible, whether a gift or for ourselves, should be something we take joy in, that we can preserve for a long functional book life, and that will empower others when a gift to really utilize it. And that's why I love this channel now. Thanks for helping me find the ESV Heirloom, and the Humble Lamb NKJV. I've also fallen in love with He Speaks Truth, ESV "DURABLE" New Testament for camping bag, HCSB Gospel Project, CSB Reader, CSB Study, NRSV devotional, vintage KJV. I love reading the Bible everyday, not every month now...and I appreciate yours and the spirit's help in motivating me and connecting me closer to God's word. I am not a pastor, and I didn't set out to drop 1K on bibles over a year...but now the fun thing is keeping a few and sharing the rest with others or dropping them in a Little Lending Library in Indy.

I recently bought a Zondervan NIV Heritage Passagio with blue buffalo skin - for a reading only Bible and I love it so much!!! I would never have known this Bible exists or how to get one without your videos! Thank you Tim!!

My favorite right now is the Legacy Standard wide margin that just came out. I also love the CSB handcrafted large print wide margin. My third favorite is an old KJV I got at Walmart back in the late 90s-early 2000s. Most of my go-to Bibles are large print and wide margin.

I love my Cambridge Clarion (goatskin, NIV). It is so soft and pliable, and the print is so easy to read. It invites me to read it every day. Like part of me.

Wow, thank you! You keep broadening my perspective and knowledge. I can't wait to pick a couple of these up.

At the moment my favourite Bible is the Cambridge NASB wide margin in goatskin. That's the Bible I'm using this year, and I've really connected with it. I'm looking forward to the NASB Prime thinline reference edition (I'm really hoping it becomes available in the UK🤞). Really loving your channel Tim. I appreciate all the hard work that must go into running it. Many thanks.

My top 5 (with a bonus) would be:

5. HCSB Ultra Thin - Bought this when I was in Bible college a decade ago and spent an entire year reading from it, for a change of pace. I fell in love with the CSB formatting, especially the bullet notes and bold text for OT quotes in the NT. Have gone back to this a few times over the years.

4. ESV Wide Margin Reference Bible - My first ESV, which was given to me by the pastor who discipled me after I became a believer and also helped me make the decision to go to Bible college. I spent many years with this Bible and it's full of notes and highlights from my time in school and early days of preaching at a prison near by.

3. ESV Study Bible Hardcover circa 2010 - Bought this with Christmas funds the year the ESV Study Bible was released. I actually haven't used it a ton, but it's a great resource to use for studying when I don't need to go super in depth with commentaries. I love all the articles and illustrations in this Bible as well.

2. Schuyler Quentel CSB MBM - I just got this Bible, but it is absolutely amazing. Ridiculous quality and the paper and typeface make it draw me in constantly. Reading through the CSB this year and it's an absolute gem.

1. ESV Large Print Thinline True Tone circa 2013 - This is the Bible I've consistently used over the last decade. I've gone back and forth with other Bibles, but this one has been my go to. It's super floppy and just feels like home to me. I'm considering having it rebound by Paul's Leather Co.

Bonus - I just picked up a copy of the ESV Heritage Horween and man...what a beautiful Bible!

My life application study Bible was my favorite! It totally fell apart 🥲 I used it for 8 years. So many good notes and study tools.

My main bible right now is the PSQ NKJV in slate goatskin. Beautiful. Also fits perfectly in my small brief bag from Nock Co. alongside my copy of Be Thou My Vision with my Kindle Oasis slipped in the pocket. A nice setup to carry to the coffee shop in the mornings before work. Looking to get a PSQ sized equivalent with the NRSV to add in at some point. I also use Olive Tree digital versions of the ESV Study Bible and the NRSV.

Fun video Tim, thank you for sharing your top 5. I definitely know what you mean about a list evolving over time. My current top 5 are 1) ESV Schuyler Quentel, 2) ESV PSQ, 3) Crossway Omega, 4) ESV Topaz and tied for fifth 😇, Allan ESV1, Clarendon and any of the Crossway Horween leather editions.

I only have two bibles at present, my Lutheran Study Bible and Today's Parallel Bible with 4 translations. I would like to get the ESV Study Bible in Goatskin but it is not in print. I think that my next bible purchase will be NIV, Reference Bible, Deluxe Single-Column, Premium Goatskin Leather, Black, Premier Collection, Black Letter, Art Gilded Edges, Comfort Print Bible. I like the blue box with references at top of each page so I have room to write below in the margins which are somewhat wide. Love your channel.

At the moment I absolutely love my Humble Lamb NKJV in red goatskin and my ESV Inductive Study Bible (Burgundy imitation leather). I can’t wait to start my morning devotions and I know part of the reason is because these Bibles make the process so enjoyable.

My All-Time Favorite:
...Is my ESV Large Print Compact in Buffalo Leather. That bible has been at my side through a lot over the past year and a half and it contains a lot of notes that are very important to me. And I absolutely love the size, the buffalo leather, etc.

My Runner-Up:
I have a "CSB Ultrathin Reference" bible in Black Genuine Leather. I have been doing a lot of my studying in that one this year and I've loved it. It's one of those that I've spent so much time with, that it's become "mine". (And I love the look & feel of it too, which helps a lot)

My most recent additions that I'm enjoying:
• I just picked up an NLT Thinline Reference (Earthen Teal Blue cover). I'm really liking this one for a casual reader. And the Filament App has been a lot of fun to use.
• NET Single Column Reference in a Leatherlike cover. I'm enjoying this translation...It kind of feels like a mid-point between ESV and CSB. Definitely excited to dig more into it in the coming months.

As someone who’s only ever spent much time with the sort of standard, red paperback NAB and NABRE that a bunch of Catholics have laying around, once I got the Ascension Press Great Adventure RSV, that’s the one for me now. Perfect for the Bible in a Year podcast!

As my eyesight gets weaker, font size is becoming more and more important to me. Would love each review to discuss available font sizes.

I have several schuylers, 2 Allan’s and a crossway rebind from AE bibles. I must say, the rebind is my favorite, followed by the Allan’s. My speckled edge Allan esv is a close second for my favorite. I just preordered the Zipper Schuyler esv personal size quentel because I live in Japan and it’s a SUPER backpack culture and I don’t wanna toss an allan in my backpack lol. Excited for the zipper Bible for my backpack.
