In this video we look at the entire evolution of Klaus Heisler from American Dad. Created by Seth MacFarlane and voiced by Dee Bradley Baker, we look at Klaus' entire life story, his past and future.
In this sequel in to Meg Griffin: Family Guy's Cruelest Joke, I look at how Klaus is treated as the punching bag in American Dad. I also dive into his relationship with the Smith family, like Roger, Stan, Francine, Steve and Hayley.
If you enjoy my Family Guy video essays, then you'll really want to watch my latest video on Seth Macfarlane's other show, American Dad. Just like Meg Griffin, Klaus acts as the punching bag for the Smith family. But does Klaus deserve all the hate? That's what I explore in this video!

In this channel we also look at the funniest Family Guy moments from Peter, Lois, Chris, Meg and Brian. As well as other Family Guy characters from Quahog Rhode Island.

The cruelest thing the show has ever done to him was when he had the opportunity to get his original body back and Stan couldn’t be assed to help preserve his body leaving his body to decompose

What really sucks is that Klaus was never always a devious, Francine loving fish, if he had won the race he would've went on to do so much more, but instead he was kept inside a bowl, and basically was forced to care for his literal kidnappers, sure he has times where he's an ass, but that is all forgotten when you remember that he is just a man, a man who swims in his own feces!

Unlike Meg or Zoidberg there have been many times where the Smiths are shown to actually care about Klaus. He is Stan's valet and it shown that these two share a bond. Also Jeff, often calls him Mr. Klaus. If not for Roger I think Klaus would have been well integrated into the family.

While Klaus is a punching bag for the show, I do like those small moments where everyone's nice to him. Like, when Francine calls herself "The Beaver" as her spy name, Stan instantly stands up and goes "That's Klaus's spy name".

That phone call with his date is one of the funniest moments of the show for me.

I feel like Klaus works much better than Meg as a punching bag, because we have been shown many ways he genuinely sucks. Every time he shares an opinion, it’s meant to be the worst possible thing and every occasion he gets to have even the smallest amount of power, he immediately abuses it.

I really want the finale of the show to have Klaus finally get a human body

My favorite Klaus episode was when he threw out his back at hotel of a conference and had to repeatedly watch the hotel
Infomercial with Rita Ruder tell her one joke over and over again 😅

It's pretty sad, in the episode where Klaus gets stans boday and stan gets Klaus' old body stan says "I understand now Klaus, you used to fly but now you're trapped swimming"

You just explained why I love klaus personality he's that character that bites back alot instead of being a character like Meg to be persuaded to go back to her usual self and routine and not become the people that tormented her. klaus is more human like considering there are alot of people in the world who enjoys being petty or getting revenge they also abuse the power they hold and position so i'm glad he's not all that likable people don't like ugliness and that's what he's full of.

Dee Bradley Baker brings such a level of charisma to Klaus that he's probably my favorite character in American Dad, despite being the least-prominent member of the Smiths.

Klaus is one of my favorate characters in the whole show he is absolutely hilarious. I love that he is always the butt of the joke. I love when he attempts to act cool and fails.

Klaus is definitely a fascinating and creative character. It does suck that oftentimes he has been used as a joke but admittedly early on in the series he was kind of a douche. The honest truth is Klaus does not deserve what the Smith family does to him. He never got his body back which granted I know if he did get his body back That would be an extreme transformation in the series, but the fact is he did not get his body back and there was a chance he could have but the Smith family just didn't care. Or at least Stan just didn't care. Haley and Francine laughed saying that Stan deserved it when Klaus switched bodies with him

He's honestly my second favorite character after Roger. His frat bros, the alcove and the truck poster, there's so many gags.

I dont remember the episode in particular but ill always remember the small bit where Stan says that they have a real relationship while trying on ties but then say that the rest of the family cant know about it 😂 without him, it just wouldnt be the Smiths as we know them

With the fact that BOTH of Seth McFarlane's shows have a punching bag character that's part of the family. I feel like Seth absolutely HATES someone in his family and is using these as a way to let his frustrations out.

I really like the love that Klaus has gotten i recent seasons with his backstory being expanded upon and his qualities being touched on like the episode where the touched on his favorite childhood tv show. I will admit Klaus needs a few more episodes for character development, also the rest of the family does need to lay off on him. In my opinion, Klaus needs to be in the protagonist role more often, it is alright to have him in an antagonistic role like in Beyond The Alcove: How I stopped worrying and learned to love Klaus but they need to show more of what makes him tick and why he continues to live on as a fish

Stan is the worst with him. He was literally going out of his way to make his life suck. The episode when he switched with the Car, this man was prepared to switch him with some item and leave him in the basement. Edit- even the episode with Rogu and Klaus at the rodeo, the entire family validated him as family while Stan worries about a friggin Donkey called tequila joe
