Yep. My grandfather/pastor/mentor who married my wife and I made it clear to us both that our commitment in marriage is a commitment to God, and to break that promise is to defy your commitment to God, not to each other.

That never left either of us.

Thanks Steve for posting this. I sadly in the camp of being divorced and agree with your assessment. In response to my ex telling me she was leaving me because she was not happy and was seeking to be happy, the very thing I said to her was that I too wanted to be happy but I was much more concerned about being faithful. And that faithfulness is not faithfulness when things are going well but faithfulness is faithful when things are tough and hard. And I stressed this is what I was more concerned about but sadly she did not see eye to eye with me at the time. And I can tell you staying faithful was not easy for me as our marriage was a hard row to hoe for me and divorce even for me looked to be the much easier path. But I just could not accept that as I believed and do believe marriage is, or should be, for life regardless of the struggles, etc.. In any case. four years later and I'm still terribly struggling as abandonment is a horrible thing especially coming from one you never thought would do such a thing. I have forgiven but scars and very deep wounds are hard to heal.

Its only about faithfulness. People cant be bothered to make each other happy at their own cost. Most people divorce because they aren't happy in some way. Be careful who you marry and how you view marriage. Life ain't about you. Marriage isn't about happiness but holiness.

So nice to hear someone tell it like it is. My wife is insisting on divorce after I discovered what ended up being years of her infidelity. I see the infidelity as “bad times” and TBH I gave her and God a vow that I would work through those times. I constantly see and hear “reasons women initiate divorce” and found out women initiate 80% of divorces. Why is that?

I agree with Steve. If those issues caused divorced than God would have done away with mankind long before. He is faithful whe we are not. However, individually if you continue to deny your creator He will give you want you want. I hope and pray you will turn to God. He loves and desires you. He knows what's best and His will is for you good.

The main cause for divorce is a Judge (a man ) issuing a LEGAL SEPARATION of the LEGAL UNION. Then the man an woman divorce. "Let no man separate.
If one never allows the STATE to be the third party in the union designed and ordained by God they would be better for it.

No incorrect it has to do with social media and platforms like that that tell women they could have it all when they truly cannot and then they come home and say they’re not happy anymore. That’s why they get a divorce and it’s not because men don’t try it’s because they have been led to believe That they could have it all
