The UK to Rhodesia - “you must return power to the indigenous people” and then makes it a crime to advocate for the same in Britain itself.

Before Zimbabwe used candles as a source of light, they used electricity.

Rhodesia showed the world what Africa could be, and ZImbabwe showed the world what Africa is. RIP Rhodesia.

I knew a white guy, a refrigeration technician, from Zimbabwe who had a real story of British betrayal. His great grandfather was a renowned pilot who, towards the end of 1939, had been sent out by His Majesty's government to help establish an aerodrome for training WW2 pilots in the then colony of Southern Rhodesia. His grandmother was born there in 1940 and they were encouraged to settle and develop that country after the war, so they did.

His father was born around 1960 and he was born in Zimbabwe shortly after independence there in 1982 if I remember correctly. In any case when he needed to leave because of Mugabe's economic destruction in the early 2000's, the British government said he had no ancestral rights to Britain whatsoever because his family was too many generations out of Britain itself. Thus this descendant of a WW2 hero of sorts had no legal way to enter the UK. He ended up going to South Africa. Nice betrayal that, and yet it's a fact that hundreds of thousands of black Zimbabweans have British passports today. Can somebody explain how that works?

I met a Rhodesian woman at the university. She was the lone survivor of her family, they havd all been murdered. They were normal people, farmers not military or politicians. There was no excuse for what has been done to her family.

There's a clip I love of a Chinese rail engineer berating an African for letting all the British industrial equipment and infrastructure that was left to them rust and rot away until it was all useless.

I had a mate from Rhodisia, Jubes, God love him, he fought against Mugabe and the communists, he often regaled his war stories and how Britain abandoned them in their hour of need, they even had their own SAS, the military was based on ours, there's a huge South African community in the UK of which he was an active member, he lost his families farm, Rhodisia basically fed most of Africa, and of course the commies ruined it, very sad

"Rhodesia was more British than Britain"
Then clearly, in some spiritual way, it makes sense that Antonio Salazar's Portugal was honouring its the ancient Anglo-Portuguese treaty by continuing to supply Rhodesia until the very end.

I’m South African on my dad’s side. He remembers as a boy when Rhodesia collapsed and quickly became a third world country. Then all these preening liberals came to see how liberated the black population were. They found decaying cities and burning gas stations and ruined train tracks. They couldn’t comprehend that the majority population could not in fact maintain the system that Rhodesia had built.

I refer to Thomas Sowell when I post "the past several decades of western civilization has been replacing what works with what sounds good."

*Botswana was, and is, successful, because they worked with their former overlords after independence.* That brought in great amounts of money through mining rights and expertise in the field. That money was invested into the Tswana people, and now Botswana has the highest GDP per capita on mainland Africa.

Rhodesia/Zimbabwe borders Botswana. There’s no reason why they couldn’t have been any different. Yet they chose the opposite policy: to reject everything about their former overlords. Now they long for their former occupation as their golden era, not realizing how frighteningly little effort it takes to return to that era if they put aside biases and accept Western culture.

People used to travel to Rhodesia to see the ruins of Zimbabwe. Now people travel to Zimbabwe to see the ruins of Rhodesia.

We have white friends who fled Rhodesia. Most of the whites who didn't were slaughtered in a genocide that was engineered by Mother England.

The Portuguese never betrayed Rhodesia nor South Africa! They were forced out of Angola and Mozambique by the superpowers on both east and west. The Portuguese would've never let the Rhodedians fall. A lot of Portuguese stayed behind fighting for Rhodesia as mercenaries and a lot of Rhodesians ended up in Portugal when escaping the black massacres. One of the reasons modern English level is so high among the Portuguese is because most Portuguese were taught English by either South Africans or Rhodesians. I myself, Portuguese, had 4 Rhodesian english teachers from 5 to 18 years old. Rhodesians never die! The land will become Zimbabwe when the Zambezi runs dry!

Simply put, whenever Anglo men seize their right to self-determination, no matter where in the world, there is no enemy more deadly, dangerous or persistent than the UK government.
