My god, Reeve is just so damn good as Supes. He plays Clark, Superman, Kal-El as 3 different personalities. His speech pattern, body language, the whole nine. There will never be an actor who captures that essence nearly as much as him.

Gosh Christopher Reeve was a gorgeous, beautiful and very handsome man. He was the perfect Superman. In my opinion, the best. I saw all the Superman movies as a kid and had such a crush on him. He was awesome. God rest his soul.👍❤️👌😊🙋🌺🌸

This is why I think the Richard Donner cut is better, it feels more connected to the first film by having Marlon Brando as Jor-El take away his powers rather than the mother. While the theatrical cut is watchable, I would consider it to be more of its own movie than a sequel, the Donner cut is definitely my preferred version, mainly because of Marlon Brando

Couple of things: #1 - Christopher Reeve is THE BEST superman ever. He was born to play that role. He became superman. There was no acting. He was that good. #2. That look Jor-El gave Lois. Wow. This tells me he was actually present, and not just a hologram from the past.

The look at Lois from Jor-El at 4:30 is side eye about his son having to give us his legacy for her and the salvation of all. I’m sure it was Father and son first serious argument too.

Here's Superman, the most powerful being on Earth, reduced to a child in front of his father. Amazing body language and subtle acting gestures. Wonderful acting from Reeve. He's the standard that really no one ever since has been able to match in superhero movies.

Despite its flaws, I enjoy the Donner Cut more. I watched the theatrical version last night. I was actually surprised at some of the elements they left out. It still has some great moments, though. I think the ending is stronger in that one. It's a shame the best of both haven't been combined to form some sort of SUPERMAN II Definitive Cut. That would probably be the best Superman movie ever.
