Zod was legit terrifying in this movie. Michael Shannon deserves praise.

BATMAN is apparently somewhere driving a car, stressed out.

"And
I have no people."
Most underrated delivery of a line in the whole movie. Sent chills down my spine when I watched this first time. Reminded me of a quote, "nothing is more dangerous than a man with nothing more to lose."

After the Flash we need to show this dude some more respect. Man single handedly bodied the entire Kyrptonian army and never died trying!

Just to put Zodd's abilities into perspective. It took Clark his entire childhood to get accustomed to his heightened senses on Earth, while Zodd became accustomed to them MIDFIGHT in just a few minutes! That's incredible, and truly is a testament to the threat that Zodd was.

I always liked the little detail that the heat vision actually hurts the Kryptonian. Adds a certain layer of believability to their powers.

Zod adapted in mere days to what took Kal his whole life to do. Truly a warrior.

The sheer scale of destruction that’s displayed each time they clash is amazing. This movie is amazing

Imagine being trained your entire life to master your senses and get beaten by a guy trained on a farm.

Zod: “Where did you train? On a farm?!”

Superman: “yes.” 😐

Imagine if Zod succeeded, then Steppenwolf and Darkseid will be met with a race of gods protecting the Mother Boxes and Anti-Life Equation

Completely accurate. Two Kryptonians going at it should be like an atom bomb explosion. Critics suck.

"Where did you train, on a farm!?"

That line cracks me up every time😂

Shannon is insanely underrated in this role, Zod is a hard character to bring to life from the comics, and he had to follow Stamp's iconic performance. He really is terrifying, but he also gives him humanity without making him too sympathetic. It really is an amazing performance. It deserves more praise.

Before the fight, I like the detail of Superman having a sympathetic look for Zod; shows his caring nature, as in spite of how monstrous Zod had acted, Superman could still understand his pain.

My favorite criticism for this movie was critics saying the amount of destruction was too much..

..yea let's pit 2 god level beings against each other see what doesn't get broken.

This is what a final battle should look like. Two characters, seemingly equally matched, giving everything they’ve got in one last stand. A showcase of their true power and ferocity. The music, the camera angles, all perfect. Every punch seems like it packs a megaton of force. The audience is in the middle of it, experiencing all the exhilaration. This movie was a prime example of a superhero movie and it doesn’t deserve the hate it got. It is up there with Wonder Woman and Shazam as the best DC movies.

I’ve always hated how the critics and people complained about the damage, you gotta understand that these are two *God-like beings* fighting at full force, what isn’t gonna get destroyed? Cmon now 🤦🏻‍♂️

10 years later, and is still the best fight scene in any movie. Yes there are some frustrating moments, but the movement of Superman makes it the best.

Too many people only see the destruction and fail to appreciate what fans of Superman always wanted to see in live action, Superman fighting and using his abilities in an open world against a character of similar abilities, who could take the punches.

Funny how this level of destruction occurs in the comics and animated series’ but when it comes to live action everyone hates it and says that this isn’t Superman.
