No, she wasn't snubbed! She's not one of the best 12 players, period!

When did the Olympics turn into a popularity contest? I thought it was about putting the best players on the team. There are many ladies in the WNBA who worked years and years of their life to attain this accomplishment and fulfill their dreams, blood, sweat and tears; that should be selected before Clark. Does that not mean nothing?

The media is propping her up. I saw a video of her where they made a shot of her play of the game where she lost the game overall. How is that the play of the game when your team lost? What am i missing here?

I see more men talking about Clark on social media than women. Sports is Male soap opera.

Let’s tell it straight up, Caitlin Clark’s game should afford her all the endorsement and notoriety. But, unfortunately, her game isn’t the main reason why she’s bringing attention to the wnba. A large portion of her fan base are Trump supporting new comers who hates how “woke the wnba is, and wants push Clark to the front as a conservative belle. She has politically motivated hype, which will fade away the moment she steps outside the conservative box.

Shannon Sharpe and Stephen A Smith are so paternalistic when it comes to this topic talking down to women who actually participate in the sport.

My concern has always been the media presentation of Caitlin, which is out of her power (though she can call this out). It is clear that the gain in some fans for her was due to her interaction with Angel and how that was presented by media.

The problem is not her skills, talent, and ability. It is the reality that media created a great white hope character (again, through no agency on Caitlin's part) and again swung into white savior narratives and the response of Stephen A. Smith and others lines up with the reinforcement of that narrative which has always been rooted in whiteness and white supremacy.

Most of the former pro athletes now turned podcasters seem to have the same script they're spewing out to their followers about Caitlyn. Almost like they call each other up and say hey this is how we're going to cover Caitlyn, let's make sure we all have the same messaging.

I stopped watching when he said Iowa “whopped” South Carolina in 2022, barely winning because the refs were calling the game unbalanced is not “whopping” nobody !! CC lacked sportsmanship in that game and that’s when I started not liking her game. LSU and Tennessee were the gamecocks biggest competitors but I love Reese and Jackson because of how they played the game.

Why do we have to repeatedly say that Clark is a great player? Even during this video, go back and review how many times it was said. It's like we are trying to coddle someone's feelings. Say it once, and it's enough...we get it. The real motive and cause of the frustrations with this new WBB audience is that Clark's fanbase and Trump's fanbase are the same people. This is what people aren't saying out loud. It's become sociopolitical. This is why they are so cult-like with their support of her no matter what. Or throw her name in comments or posts irrelevant to her. I've even seen some posts with American flag emojis beside her name. smh. They are unreasonable. Her fanbase grew up making jokes that all blk people are good at basketball, a stereotype, of course. They inherently believed that. So, anytime they focus on a good yt player, they go crazy. They desperately (and oddly) want her to be the best to debunk their own stereotypes. Didn't they do this with Larry Bird, too? We just didn't have social media then. Unfortunately, this attitude/behavior is ruining the experience for Clark, who should be enjoying her rookie year in the W. I can imagine how much better she might play if there was no marketing towards her for 2-3 weeks straight. (Okay I'll get off my soapbox now but just needed to get that out). What do you think? Is this not a viable insight?

She made it to the WNBA but she aint ready for the Olympics. She good but she not the best.

She is not a consistent great player this year...she had a few games of 30 points but more games of under 10 points. Plus she lead the in turnovers

The conversation could be a different conversation “” IF “” she had lead her team to a championship Those that complain are the usual whiners when the great white hopes don’t get picked or succeed it’s not her time yet !!

I think the media and her fanbase has her into such a polarizing figure, and I believe people within women's basketball are tired of the circus...There are so many great players and storylines going on in the WNBA, yet all that's talked about is something associated with her...

I dont thinl it's fair to put this on a 22 year old, but it's turning out to be another Tim Tebow or Pistol Pete. Though she's a talent, we rarely talk about the talent...And that seeps into locker rooms where her teammates and players around the league are constantly being asked questions about her, and that gets tiring fast!

Just imagine, what should be a proud moment for those 12 ladies being selected to represent your country, and all thats talked about is someone who isnt on the team...So if there is any resentment among players, you can't blame them...

She would struggle playing in the Olympics. She doesn’t have the foot speed or strength to go up against international players. She can’t create her own shot and playing on that level it’s necessary. Peacock app is going to be the reason ratings are down in the Olympics overall

I like Caitlin. But she would have got barely any playing time and would have taken a spot up. The Suns locked her up last night on defense. What do you think these women overseas will do to her if the defense is this strong against her this season?
