What do you think of the decision to not have her on the team?

Griner should not be representing the USA.

She is the all time collegiate scoring champion. If she can’t make the team as a rookie, they better not ever pick another rookie for the Olympics.

Love how the WNBA for years has complained about low attendance and very bad ratings. It's not our fault the league was boring. But now that viewership is at an all time high they're complaining because it's not them that's getting the attention. I was absolutely planning on watching team USA womans basketball, but now that Caitlin isn't playing there's not a chance in hell I will.

Would be so funny if fans at the Olympics during the US women’s games held up signs, stating: “where’s Caitlin” and started chanting “we want Caitlin, we want Caitlin”, and visibly the US team became rattled lol

Terasi was put as a rookie and she had no Olympic experience, so this argument is stupid

She's 3rd in stats in WNBA, factually without bias she should have been not only on team but also starting roster of 5!

A culture of Institutional Racism at the WNBA.

It’s systemic

Ladies and gentlemen, her popularity is not because she is white or beautiful (she is not in the eyes of many), her popularity is because she is that good, the outrage from the fans is because Ms. Clark has the numbers and the skills to represent our country. Team USA is just afraid Ms. Clark will make them look antiquated. Women's gossiping and jealousy is an anchor to the WNBA.

The thing that really gets me is Diana Taurasi talking about how she had great vets who took her under their wing when she was a rookie on team USA. It doesn't compute in her brain that she is now the vet, and she chooses to be overly critical of a 22 year old rookie, and I suspect sicced her college coach on her.

She's a rookie but her performance should have earned her a spot on the team. It was also the right business decision because her presence would have increased viewership. But the WNBA is not a financially self-sustaining enterprise. When you are subsidized, your revenue is guaranteed regardless of performance. This reduces the rigor that normally determines business decisions and allows more room for them to be influenced by pettiness and jealousy. She was omitted so as not to antagonize other players. It is a sad commentary about women's basketball in the US.

The committee who picks who will play in the Olympics needs to be replaced. No clue.

Disrespect the game because of popularity? Thought the "game"s biggest problem all these years had been a lack of popularity. A comet of a player comes along and the decision is " nah, we don't care about popularity, we'd rather take a 42 year old and an injured player who hasn't been on court all year." Can see why women's basketball has struggled commercially for so long. They don't have any regard for what the fans want and act arbitrarily to the point of self-sabotage. For instance, I keep hearing " it's a very physical league". Meaning they effectively encourage the players to foul indiscriminately and the officials to blow in a haphazard, inconsistent way. Diminishes the product and makes it look scrappy and chaotic. Not entertaining at all.

Christian Laetner was on the dream team because they wanted to have a college representative. How is the leading scorer in NCAA history not going to make this team? Whoever made this decision is plain dumb.

I do not want her at this point to spend 3 weeks surrounded by haters. They also need to get rid of ger coach, Sides is over her head and is terrible.
