If you use a spider, a woodlouse spider might be a good choice. They have long fangs to pierce through the exoskeleton of the isopods and they are widespread throughout the US. They also don’t grow too large.

Watch out for bears in those dangerous woods

You can also put fruits or vegetables in there.
I usually use shredded lettuce, a slice of cucumber/apple/carrot or a cube of potato.

Potatoes/carrots last long, while cucumber/apple/carrots are usually eaten quickly.

These options don't quickly create mold, unlike strawberries/bananas.

I’m so obsessed with ur videos but it’s rlly sad seeing that I tried to make around 3 teeny tiny different terrariums from moss in my yard 2 y e a r s ago
And I’m am AFRAID to open them because they have become their own little planets and if I open any of them I fear I may summon the god that’s been governing their somehow somewhat surviving homeland

I used two beetles and a spider or two to keep down the population of mine
ps mine was pretty big so plenty of space to run around
