DK Weight Yarn Socks

My first attempt at DK Weight Yarn Socks. Quick answer I LOVE them! The full story watch the Vlog…This Vlog is a bit all over the place which I explain why in the video hahaha.

Was wondering how they wear? I made a pair of socks from beautiful dk weight yarn and I only wore them maybe 7 times and the heels got holes in them. I was so bummed because I LOVED those socks! Wondering if it was just my yarn or is dk not a good yarn for socks?

I knit hats with leftover sock yarn combined with a fingering weight wool and it is such a lovely fabric. It would probably work out as great socks about dk weight. Great way to stash bust all those leftover sock yarns.

When I make house socks for friends. I use 2 strands of fingering held together. My gauge is loose so I knit with size 3 needles. Lots of times the socks are made from leftover yarns. Paton's sock yarns are favorites because they are hard wearing.

Love those socks. We can’t get a decent DK range here in Australia in sock yarn that’s not plain.

Happy feet, I think by Plymouth, has DK sock yarn. I have size 10 feet, so I do not just fly past knitting the foot.

Is the DK yarn you used superwash and polyamide? Is it actually made for socks? Or just regular DK acrylic? Thanks…

Using a thicker weight would be so much easier
