I recently discover your channel while I was looking for an external SSD and after watching some of your videos I can say you're one the honest tech reviewers I have seen, as a student with a lots of notes taking I'm waiting for your ipad mini 7 full review and please inculde which generation of apple pencil it supports because it's so confusing. I think Apple should include the supportive pencil inside the box just like Samsung, thank you for this honest and amazing video.

Thanks for being one of the very very few honest tech reviewers. Tech reviews have become a glorified echo chambers and no one is willing to call out legitimate bullshit these companies are pulling. It’s actually made me lose a significant amount of interest in tech YouTube. Reviews are meant to be objective, honest assessments of products. Not pointing out gaping deficiencies and year over year barely perceptible differences while charging a premium needs to be addressed.

In the early 2000's I worked for a car dealership and within it, I came a across an interview with the CEO of BMW who was questioned about the then design of their cars and the criticism about them being ugly. His response? It doesn't matter. It's a BMW, people will buy it. I believe it's the same with Apple. They could churn out dog excrement, put their logo on it, charge $250 and people would still line up outside an Apple store to buy it. Most people aren't tech nerds like us and really don't care about refresh rates, A or M chips or how much RAM a device has, they buy Apple because of the Logo. Apple no longer sells products. They sell a status symbol which appeals to the materialists of the world, making them feel like they are in an elite club. I'm probably generalizing a lot here and this is my opinion based on zero market research, but I hope you get my point. I'm not criticizing Apple users, like all of us, they are vicitms of a modern materialistic world. I believe people buy into Apple, rather than the product.

I agree. Especially since it's not cheap. 2000 nits, OLED, 120hz would have been a solid upgrade.

It does boggle the mind why they didn't do that.

I know it must be a tough decision to release these type of videos recently regarding apple products, but I definitely appreciate you not hyping and putting a positive spin on devices just for views. These other YouTubers need to stop. Nobody in 2024 cares about the new A, B, or C chip that’s inside iPad mini.

Hands down am not upgrading my Mini 6. They could have even launched a Mini Pro - seriously a giant missed opportunity with their customers that want one!

They’ve had people begging for a pro mini and a new iteration of iPhone minis for years now and they just don’t deliver. I was considering upgrading my iPad mini, but this isn’t even an upgrade.

It's all part of their pricing scheme you can't put "pro" features in the entry level products... Ever! They always have the next best thing only $200-400 away. They bought so many 64G chips and 60hz screens any they don't want to throw them out.

Don't buy it, then. Don't reward Apple for laziness. My "Mini" has 120hz and folds in half to fit my pocket (Pixel 9 Pro Fold) and it's great.

That said, I have an I pad mini 4. Still works fine and I bought it from. eBay. It was my first Apple product before getting an I phone. The battery is going and the Apple Store has stopped opening as it needs an update to iOS 16. Apps still updating but I held out and didn't get the mini 6.
64 gig in '24? Who for?
Now the mini 7 has 128 gig storage minimum, I am pulling the trigger and getting a new one next week. Bought a Apple mini 6 Folio case (compatible with the 7) and paid ....25.00 on eBay! Brand new! Look there first before the sellers wise up and increase their prices!

Steamdeck is 60hz (more expensive OLED version is 90hz). I would argue that the vast majority of gamers use 60hz. That said I do like my 120hz iPhone Pro.

I'm not updating, especially because I can't use my current Apple Pencil. Adding an Apple Pencil Pro totally makes this a financial bust.

Love the mini, I owned the 4/5 & currently the 6, definitely not worthy of an upgrade...disappointed as I was waiting for this release.

I had the iPad Pro 12.9 (2018) and the iPad Mini 6. And I used the iPad Mini 6 the most because of its portability and that it was powerful enough, even for 3D CAD work.

I waited for the iPad Mini 7, but ended up with the 11 Pro M4 as the best of two worlds. It, the size and feel of a A5 Notebook!

Last ipad I bought was the ipad pro 10.5, which has a 120 hz display. Got it when it came out in 2017 and still works well today. I tend to buy tech upgrades when there is a significant leap in technology, to get the most life out of it. I considered getting the mini 7, but it doesn’t seem like much of an upgrade from my 7 year old pro.
